Life Legacy


Ronnie ?Dad? Slagle, age 60, of Maypearl, passed away Friday, November 17, 2006 at his home. He was born September 27, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to Nolen Elmer and Ruby Pearl (Rodgers) Slagle. Ronnie served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War in the First Calvary Airborne Division. He married Brenda Kay Broadway on April 19, 1969 in Paris, Texas. He had been employed with Sentry Electric in Dallas, where he was responsible for changing the lights on Reunion Tower from the day they opened until 1995. Dad was an avid bow hunter, but most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and a friend to everyone.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda Slagle of Maypearl; two children, Chris Slagle and his wife, Valarie of Itasca and Mindy Schwalm and her husband, Corbin of Maypearl; one grandson, Garrett; his mother, Ruby Pearl Slagle; brothers and sisters, Mary Fields of Maypearl, Nolan Slagle of Gainesville, TX, Debra Osteen of Maypearl and Bo Slagle of DeSoto and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Shirley Slagle.

Services are scheduled for 3 PM Monday November 20, 2006 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Family and friends will leave for the service in procession at 2 PM Monday from Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
