Biography

William Messenger, 73, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Charlton Methodist Hospital. He was born July 6, 1937, in Pecos County, Texas, to William and Vera Dixon Messenger. He married Martha Smith Messenger on July 18, 1987. Mr. Messenger was a retired airplane mechanic. He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy for 24 years, retiring as a Petty Officer First Class.
Mr. Messenger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Messenger of Red Oak, five step-children; Lori Dooly of Dallas, Mike Dooly and wife Cindy of Waxahachie, Larry Dooly and wife Marlene of Denton, Toni Grmela and husband Steve of Red Oak, and Kim Prince and husband Michael of Red Oak, eight grandchildren; Jeff Prince, Heather and Matt Hack, Amy Prince, Elizabeth Prince, Timmy Grmela, Dan Crossland, and April Banning. His brother Josh Messenger and wife Annette of Midlothian and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Vera Dixon Messenger and sister-in-law Chris Messenger.

The family will receive friends from 6–8PM Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12 PM Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2PM Thursday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home at 511 West Main, Waxahachie, Texas.
