Biography

Donald Wayne Hayes, Sr., age 56, of Milford, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Hill Regional Medical Center in Hillsboro. He was born October 3, 1953 in Ennis, Texas to Fred and Freida (Williams) Hayes. Donald was raised in Avalon and graduated from Avalon High School. He married Paula Holmes on August 6, 1976 and they moved to Milford in 1989. He worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 25 years. Donald loved hunting and being outdoors, where he would sit and stare at the stars for hours. He was a farm boy at heart and loved being on the farm with the tractors and animals. He was a great daddy and man. There will never be another man like him. He put 100% in everything he did including loving his family and taking care of them.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Paula Hayes of Milford; three daughters, Barbara Singleton and husband, Alan of Ennis, Janet Stone and husband, Daniel, Eva Wilkinson and husband, Michael and one son Donald Wayne Hayes, Jr. all of Milford; father, Fred Hayes; siblings, James Hayes, Sr. of New Mexico, Freida Waylene Winchester, Anita Kay Hayes, Gerri Hayes all of Corsicana, Denise Hayes of Ennis and Barbara Kilger of Corsicana; 10 grandchildren, Brea Singleton of Garland, Alan Singleton, Jr., Makayla Singleton, Olivia Singleton and Nicholas Singleton all of Ennis, Brittany Stone, Donald Wayne Hayes, III, Tristen Shane Hayes, Michael Wilkinson, Jr. and Dustin Wilkinson all of Milford. He was preceded in death by his mother, Freida Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral services will be 1PM Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Reverend Shane Norcross officiating. Interment will follow at the Hughes Cemetery in Avalon.

Pallbearers will be Alan Singleton, David Moore, Don Moore, A. C. Singleton, Michael Holmes and Michael Wilkinson.
